Antistatic oil and gas workwear: worker in certified FR apparel next to production facilities

Sector

Apparel prepared for demanding energy environments.

Production fields, treatment plants and refineries present specific risks where apparel selection is part of the operation's safety system.

Reference standards

Our oil and gas line is built on FRARTEX, an inherent flame-resistant and antistatic fabric. It targets operations where thermal, electrical and hydrocarbon exposure risks coexist, with strict identification and visibility requirements.

Application environments

  • Production fields
  • Drilling and workover
  • Treatment plants
  • Refineries
  • Maintenance and inspection

Sector

Risks and needs

The points we consider when defining an apparel solution for this sector.

  • 01

    Flash fire

Operations involving hydrocarbons where a momentary ignition risk may exist.

  • 02

    Electrical risk

Maintenance and intervention tasks on energised equipment and installations.

  • 03

    Substance exposure

Potential contact with fluids, drilling muds and chemical agents inherent to the process.

  • 04

    Identification and visibility

Visibility and personnel identification requirements across large, continuously operating sites.

Line fabric

FRARTEX

FRARTEX-2400AS·88% cotton, 10% nylon, 2% anti-static·240 g/m² · 7 oz

FRARTEX is the technical fabric ESTEPA uses to build oil and gas apparel. The cotton base keeps the garment wearable through long field days; nylon adds abrasion resistance; the antistatic fibre dissipates body charge. Flame behaviour is inherent to the cloth: it does not depend on a finish that washes out.

  • Inherent flame resistance: does not melt or drip
  • Antistatic fibre woven into the cloth
  • 88 / 10 / 2 blend, 240 gsm (7 oz)
  • Developed for production fields, plants and workover
